Chris Gray

Originally from the South West of Scotland, Chris Gray is a piper, pianist, whistle player, composer and teacher of great versatility. In January 2020, at Celtic Connections in Glasgow, Chris released his self-titled debut album featuring all original compositions, rooted in the tradition of folk music. Chris has performed and taught internationally in countries including Australia, New Zealand, France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Slovakia and Oman. He was also one of the Pipers of the Scottish Session Orchestra that recorded for Hans Zimmer’s Dune film soundtrack.
Performance highlights include performing at Classic FM live at the Royal Albert Hall (London), festivals in Wickham (England), Ortigueira (Spain), Lorient (France), solo at the Basel International Tattoo and piano performances at Blair Castle (Scotland) for Keepers of the Quaich banquets. Chris has appeared at the Edinburgh Festival live on BBC Radio Scotland with his trio, and guested on keys with Scottish folk band Skipinnish. Chris has also performed in the world of musical theatre, playing keys for the ‘Wedding Singer’ production at Eastwood Park Theatre, Glasgow in March 2019.
