Tori Sparks was born in Chicago, later lived and recorded Nashville, but she has made her home in Barcelona for the past ten years. Since the age of 18 she has played an average of 150 concerts each year in 24 countries. She captures the heart of audiences with her powerful voice, her no-holds-barred live show, and her sense of humor. 

A decade ago, she moved to Barcelona, Spain and began a collaboration with the flamenco trio Calamento and electric guitarist El Rubio. Her last four albums are a surprising mix of her native folk, rock, blues and roots music with flamenco fusion, called “a flawless fusion of styles” (La Vanguardia), “adventurous, pushing the envelope” (Rolling Stone), and “pure art” (Los Conciertos de Radio3). Her songs have since been heard in countless commercials and television series, most recently in the hit Netflix series SkyRojo. 

Tori was one of three artists selected to represent Spain and Catalunya in the international music export program, Global Music Match 2021, which featured folk and traditional artists from 17 countries on four continents. With the release of a new vinyl record this past summer, Tori and her multilingual band have also created a new live show for 2022: EL MAR ELECTRIC. The show is an homage to and a celebration of the mix of cultures and musical styles — American, Spanish, Catalan, Arabic, Latin, and more — that have marked Tori’s 20-year career. 

She is also known for giving back to the community through benefit concerts, and is a strong proponent of music education and artists’ rights.
